FOUR ROUND ROCKS

I took this picture early afternoon, in (almost) full sun. Bright light brought out details of the grain structure of the rocks; shadows highlighted their smooth edges. These are just plain gray rocks you'll find on beaches. The picture was taken in color, but it was almost monochrome before I converted it to black and white as the rocks show a full range of grays from true black to true white. Before printing the image, I increased the contrast a little, slightly sharpened it, and cropped it to 8 x 10.
